Three cheers for better governance!

In a few weeks, Jenny and I are off to New Orleans for the BoardSource 2015 Leadership Forum, the only national conference focused on the impact of nonprofit boards and the unique role they play in advancing the public good. We are excited to learn the most up-to-date, innovative best practices in the field of governance AND to become the first consultants in Tucson certified to deliver BoardSource’s signature trainings in the BoardSource methodology.

If you want to learn more about BoardSource, visit www.boardsource.org.

Meanwhile, here in Tucson we’ve got three upcoming opportunities for you to develop your board of directors:

1)    Board Service Orientation offered at our office on the 3rd Monday of the month, 4:30-6:00pm. This session is perfect for your new or veteran board members, and offers a great way to level-set everyone’s understanding of the role of the board.  Only $75/person. Details at http://partnersinleadership.institute/board-service-orientation.php.

2)    ENGAGE Workshop: Prepare a plan to identify, cultivate, recruit, retain, and engage your board in meaningful and productive work for your organization. Join us Friday, November 20, 2015, 8:00AM to 12:00PM at the YWCA.  $99 for the first registration, only $45 for each additional registrant from the same organization.  Bring your board members! Details at https://do-good-better.com/dev/register/.

3)    Partners in Leadership:  Our first cohort of six organizations (20 individuals) is underway! Each organization sends their executive director or CEO plus 2-3 board members, to four quarterly half-day sessions plus customized team coaching throughout the year.  It’s a year of learning, teambuilding and change that will transform the way they do business. If your organization wants to consider joining cohort 2016, start planning and budgeting now for this amazing experience.  Details at http://partnersinleadership.institute/index.php
